Youth Obesity Prevention Partners Council (YOPPC)
The Youth Obesity Prevention Partners Council (YOPPC) will be comprised of program managers of local community-based youth obesity prevention programs that address physical fitness, nutrition, school health, and/or youth mental health programs in any of the 15 school districts in Bexar County. The YOPPC will work collaboratively to provide seamless and effective prevention programming across participating school districts.
Responsibilities:

Serve as liaison between PMU/YOPPC and respective program agency

Work collaboratively with School Health Coordinator Coalition members to identify gaps in existing ISD health programs

Provide programming to satisfy identified gaps in district programs as available
-
Contribute approximately 2 hours per month as a council member

Provide expertise in program knowledge to help meet the individual needs of each targeted ISD
-
Work to implement respective program(s) in other school districts in Bexar County

Provide any marketing materials to appropriate SHCC to support program needs
Deliverables:
-
Attend all 12 coalition meetings throughout the year or secure a representative to attend the meeting in the member’s absence

Ensure that appropriate nutritional, physical and mental health programs are implemented in schools by working collaboratively with the SHCC to determine programming needs.

Work collaboratively to support programs that have been successful, and that are currently being implemented, or that have proven to be successful in other ISDs

Provide program description/fact sheets or brochures of all programs currently implemented in a targeted ISD

Provide programming to satisfy identified gaps in ISD programming where possible

Provide relevant, current or prospective program descriptions to council for review for consideration

Incorporate program indicators for ISD and review program outcomes along with SHCC members

Meet reporting standards as determined by YOPPC
